Frequently Asked Questions
  1. What is a custom slug?

A slug is the piece of the referral URL where there would usually be the affiliate’s username or ID.
Custom Affiliate Slugs takes the referral link one step further, allowing affiliates to create their own custom “slug”.

  2. How do I generate affiliate referral URLs/links?

There are two ways that affiliate referral links can be generated:

The affiliate can add their unique affiliate ID or username to the end of any URL or product page on the AromaPlus website. For example: http://yourwebsite.com/product-1/?ref=123.
Affiliates can generate their own referral link from the Affiliate Area by pasting the page URL from any page on this site into the Page URL field and clicking the Generate URL button.

  3. Can affiliates still promote my products if they don’t have a website

Yes! Whether affiliates have a website or not, they can promote AromaPlus.com.au and products on social media, offline, or anywhere else using any of the supported affiliate referral URL formats above. Affiliates can use their affiliate referral link to promote products via any social media platform (including Facebook, Twitter, Google+, LinkedIn, Pinterest, and more).

  4. Can affiliates track the performance of where their marketing efforts are focused?

Yes! Affiliate referral URLs can include a campaign parameter which helps affiliates track and monitor the performance of affiliate links.
Affiliates can name each campaign in the Affiliate Area when generating an affiliate referral link. The campaign name will be automatically appended to their affiliate referral link. Here are a couple of examples of what the affiliate referral link looks like with a campaign parameter added:
Affiliates may wish to use campaigns to place specific affiliate links in specific marketing channels – such as in an email, on a particular social media platform, or on their own website or blog if they have one. The campaigns created by the affiliate are visible in the Statistics tab when they are logged in to the Affiliate Area.
Some examples of campaign names an affiliate might use are: “Winter email”, “Twitter January”, “Facebook sale”, “Summer special”, and so on.

  6. How does the site track my referrals?

    Long cookie duration!

If a customer comes to look at something and returns 6 months later to buy, the system still tracks and generates the sale to you! Or if a customer returns to purchase again, the system will track and generate all sales to your Affiliate account.

    How does it work?
It couldn’t be simpler! We’ve streamlined our entire affiliate process to ensure ease of use, while still maintaining extremely accurate affiliate tracking. The process is:

Visitor clicks on an affiliate link on your FB Page, site or in an email.
The visitors IP is logged and a cookie is placed in their browser for tracking purposes.
The visitor browses the site, and may decide to order.
If the visitor orders (the order need not be placed during the same browser session–cookies and IPs are stored indefinitely), the order will be registered as a sale for you.
We will review and approve the sale.
    You will receive commission payouts.

The referral URL is only a starting point, we use the cookie approach because most people you give that link to don’t remember it, don’t use it or lose it, especially after a couple days but if you’ve given them a link to click on, when they go back a month later and make a purchase it credits you automatically.
Sites that rely on your link only (when you see your name or referral ID at the top) don’t necessarily use cookie tracking as well so any purchase after the first visit from your customer your commission is lost unless they happen to remember the link you sent them.
